Details of business expenses by senior officials were slipped out by the Department for Transport (DfT) just before Christmas and could prove embarrassing in light of the MPs' expenses scandal.
It comes as the DfT's most recent annual report - published last July - showed overall UK transport spending was planned to fall by more than ã1bn from ã9.196.1bn in 2009-10 to ã8.108.7bn in 2010-11.
And further cuts could come as politicians struggle to reduce Britain's ã178bn debt.
