Alternative christmas shopping

By Anna Heywood on Nov 26, 09 02:30 PM

The Alternative Christmas Gift Fair will be held at Holy Trinity Church in Jesmond, between 10am and 2pm this Saturday (28th November)

There will fairly and ethically traded goods, Christmas cards and plenty of present ideas, so it's a great place to do you Christmas shopping.
Admission is free and stall holders include Oxfam, PeopleTree, Traidcraft, the Ethicalsuperstore.com and many more.

Day four of the Caring Christmas special showcases luxurious high end jewellery alongside People Tree's recycled sari scarves (sure to be a talking point).

Strictly Come Dancing star, Jo Wood's organic beauty range, makes it on to my list again and I've found some fantastic cosy slippers.

Take a look at the recycled car parts handbag for my unique choice this year and check out what has to be, possibly, the funniest named company of the year; Life's not fair but my knickers are!

Happy Christmas ladies.

Ethical christmas bargains

By Anna Heywood on Nov 17, 09 11:03 AM

A great benefit of living on Tyneside is the public sales held by Traidcraft on the Team Valley.

These sales always deliver what they promise by offering fantastic ethical bargains; furthermore, discounts do not affect prices paid to fair trade producers who have all received full payment for their work.

Visit Traidcraft on the Team Valley
Thursday 19th November 11am - 7pm
Friday 20th November 11am - 7pm
Saturday 21st November 10am - 4pm
