Thanks Hatton!
I have started to get up really early and set off towards Darlington for a practise session at the Rileys club in the town centre.
It is open 24 hours a day and therefore my decision to put in three early hours of playing before heading back and still finding myself in the middle of the morning worked well last week, you still feel like you have the day ahead of you!
On a sunday the car park is free and at that time of the morning only serious players like me appear to play some 9-Ball. Another reason is that the tapped tables that break properly are usually taken in the middle of the day, (even non-serious players love a nice table!)
I arrived at Darlington slightly later than normal at 9.00am (the alarm went off but unfortunately too quietly to actually wake me up). I turned up at the main door, ready to play. However, due to the Mayweather vs Hatton boxing that was screened live at the club around 4am, which had a good turnout according to staff, had meant the club was needing to be cleaned, and was therefore closed for around about an hour.
I decided to head home as it was cold and my car is not the most efficient in heating!
I had other things to do so unfortunately there was no practise this week, I intend to head over to the club at some point this week to keep myself sharp. At least Hatton got ã2 million for his troubles!
