Go West - US elections
The anticipation is growing. The outcome will soon be known and it will affect all of us.
Unfortunately, we can't vote in the US presidential elections but it is an incredible spectacle to watch.
Around two years of tough campaigning spanning a country the size of a continent, it falls to around 150m Americans expected to vote to decide their own and to an extent our future.
And it couldn't come at a more crucial moment as the world looks into the depths of a global recession.
Will Barack Obama's self-proclaimed message of hope and change win over voters or will the experience of John McCain - particularly in foreign affairs - win the White House.
It looks like Obama will take it and it seems many North East MPs want him to win. Check tomorrow's Journal for details of my chat with them.
But as UK politicians oft like to quote, you can't be complacent about voters' support because they will ultimately decide who wins.
But I am looking forward to an exciting night tomorrow.
