Project 12 Cities / Projekt 12 miast

By Kasia Bobrzak on Nov 23, 08 11:47 PM

12.jpgIn November this year a Polish organisation from London set up a project called 12 Cities. The project is intended to give the answers to the current economical situation in Poland and also encourage Polish people to come back to Poland. Representatives of 12 major polish cities such as mayors, councillors and investors will be attending 12 seminars in London and they will be promoting their cities and its opportunities.

For Polish people the most important issues are the state of the Polish economy and their future in Poland. They will only go back if the standard of life will change for better and to change the current standard there should be better employment conditions and higher wages. At the moment people are still not convinced that this has changed.
There are reports that some Poles, who did go back to Poland few months ago, are very disappointed and they are already returning back to England. I think those who settled in UK know that even with the credit crunch and weak worldwide economy, for some living and working in UK is still better than in Poland.

What do you think? Will Project 12 Cities be enough to change people's mind or is it just a desperate act of the Polish government which is trying to use every possible method of encouraging Poles to go back to Poland.I am very curious what future seminars will bring and what the response will be.

Projekt 12 miast

I wish to express my concern towards incorrect information included in the article above.
1. The project's aim is not to encourage Poles to go back to Poland! Following series of aricles about Poles going back home in media we wish to give a good quality information and highlight positive and negative aspects of life in various regions of Poland, present updated opportunities and problems; another name of the project is "Return, but where?". We wish to answer the question: is it really worth going back to Poland yet? Negative answer is also acceptable and much better than low quality articles

2. The project is purely a Polish community in the UK initiative not at all connected with the Polish government.

Good advise for Kasia Bobrzak - check information before publishing.
