The Cheeky Winklers - introductions
Now that we have told you about Geocaching, we would like to tell you a little bit about us and why we love Geocaching.
We are Lily (age 9) and Toby (age 7), we live in Heaton and we love Geocaching, in fact we go most weekends, or rather most Sundays as Daddy takes us to give Mummy a break and get us out of the house.
Because there are so many geocaches in the world, we even go hunting on holidays abroad and have seen things most tourists don't get to see.
In future blogs we will tell you about our geocache adventures abroad.
We like geocaching because from climbing mountains in the Lake District to wading through lagoons in southern Spain, it gets you off of your big bottom and helps you to keep fit.
Toby likes it because you go outside and smell the fresh air, he thinks that the hunt for the cache is exciting, making you feel relived when you find it.
Lily loves cracking the clues given beforehand and finding the coordinates on the GPS machine.
We recently went to the UK's first mega event with over 1,000 other geocachers in Harrogate and we made lots of new friends.
Mainly, we hope to let other people and children know about Geocaching, so that they too can get to explore the outdoors and see all the wonderful things we have seen - better than a boring family walk.
