Mange Tout Del Boy?

By Pauls Apart on Feb 11, 09 11:01 AM

PAUL JAMES

OK at least Del boy - on behalf of Ashley - is showing some ambition.

But how much does that mean we're going to have to spend in the summer? And will it be JFK spending it?

If the lawyers have told him not to say anything about Keegan then fine.

And at least there's some realisation that the club need to speak to a) the fans and b) the local papers.

But it's going to take a lot more to convince me about this lot. Saying stuff about challenging for everything in five years doesn't help though and PL and his red and white friends will rightfully pick up on that.

Also, I'd rather hear it from Ashley. I saw him speak in public when the new regime launched the club's foundation (a very good thing to do) and all the evidence shows he's just about the least shy man in the North East.

And as for Dennis - there's a blance to be had between quantity and quality. Our signings to date have been OK - Jonas, Coloccini, Taylor and Nolan are all improvements and Bassong is the best defender we've had in years. We just need some more of them and we needed them last month. I just hope we won't live to regret that inaction in both windows so far.

And get well soon JFK. I was going to write that I didn't want him to sign that contract but I'm struggling to think of who realistically we'd get instead - Bruce in the summer?

Anyway, I hear PL was joined at the steerdeeum by a black and white at the weekend? Can we confirm this?
