Fever Pitch
Hay fever has hit the Smiles household and hit it hard.

While I cope with constant sneezing, Chris' eyes are bloodshot and puffy. We both look and feel hideous.
At the beginning of the summer I was starting to feel a bit smug. "I usually get it," I said looking at fellow sufferers in pity. But, like always, come the end of June hay fever has hit like a freight train.
We both treat our debilitating pollen allergies in different ways. Chris says he likes to 'punish' his hay fever by rubbing his eyes within an inch of their lives, gobbling copious amounts of over the counter treatments and, on occasion, punching his own nose in a bid to make it stop streaming.
I on the other hand put up and shut up. Like many things in life - even if they have been proven in extended Swedish clinical trials - I no longer believe that anything can bring perceptible relief to my summer time illness and so suffer through stoically.
So while most people are enjoying picnics on the green, spare a thought for Chris and I - sniffling shadows of our former selves, praying for the pollen to subside.

My feed

Hi Mieka.
I know this may sound daft, but it might be worth a try. Do you use plug in air fresheners?
A lady I know suffers from Hay Fever, but this year it has been much more severe and a right horror for her.
Runny nose, sneezing, eyes red and running, eyelids red and sore and so puffy she could hardly see.
Anyway, she was advised to remove her plug in air freshener and did so.
There was a swift and major improvement which has remained.
She has gone back to `normal`(for her) Hay Fever and she has been able to go back to work in a veg shop.
Cheers.
John.
