Going back to work

By Leanne Chambers on Jun 20, 09 04:26 PM

16th June

Feel great apart from reflux and belching but decide it is time for action - I ring my boss and ask if I can come back to work TOMORROW and she is so happy to hear this and can't wait to see me.

I had only been in my job six weeks when I was diagnosed and she has been so supportive with phone calls, visits etc as have all the girls in the department and I feel very lucky to be part of their team and cant wait for tomorrow.

17th June

I arrived at work feeling like a new starter again but this is soon rectified when my boss gives me a great big hug and tells me how wonderful it is to have me back.

The girls are happy to see me back at work also and tell me they are there for me if I need anything and will help me in any way they can I just have to ask. I am a very lucky person to work with such supportive people and quickly forget what is wrong with me - I feel like Leanne again it's bloody marvellous! I don't tell my boss but have got no work done today as everyone has been to see me to say hello but will make up for it tomorrow.

18th June

I contact my oncologist as the belching and reflux are getting worse - I get a prescription for some medication as apparently this is normal.
