Here comes the Bride!

By Francesca Craggs on Jun 29, 09 04:12 PM

AFTER 12 months in the planning and a sum I don't wish to calculate, it's finally here.
In just 4 days time I will no longer be an hysterical bride-to-be. I will be an even more hysterical wife.

I'll have kissed goodbye to singledom and embarked on a brand new chapter in my life - marriage. Wife. Just had to say it again to enable the fact to seep into my skull.
Over the past 12 months, my wedding planning journey has seen me reach all sorts of highs and lows.
The lowest ebb undoubtedly being the Christian Louboutin shoe episode. All is well now though. The killer heels are well and truly broken in, thanks to daily disco dancing stints around the bedroom.
I've also learned that weddings bring about a strange change in people's personalities. Call me Bridezilla? There have been a few Guestzillas out there let me tell you.
As the big day draws ever nearer, I'm finding my stress levels are surprisingly low.
My emotions however, are running as high as ever. The mere thought of my wedding day, my dad seeing me in my dress for the first time, my H2B waiting for me at the altar (hopefully), my mum in her fabulous hat, results in me being overcome with sentiment.
I've now resorted myself to the fact I'm going to be an emotional wreck. There are worse things to be in life I suppose.
My H2B is still on an oil rig in the middle of the North Sea. I wish I was there too. Alone. Just to have a day without living, breathing and dreaming weddings would be bliss.
He returns tomorrow. God help him. He won't know what's hit him when I thrust the "to do" list into his oily paws.
Top of the list will be to practice our first dance. As a trained dancer, I planned to choreograph a nifty little number. My H2B's response "tomorrow" never came. Shuffling in a circle it is then.
After 12 months of hard wedding planning graft, I deserve a break.
Next week is officially pamper week and all about me. Me me me!
So the big day, they say, will go by in a flash, so savour every second.
I've almost reached the top of the mountain, but what will I find? Let's hope it's not rain.
