Johnson knows nothing
Apparently, Health Secretary Alan Johnson came into the Commons chamber for Prime Minister's Questions unaware of what Hazel Blears was up to.
He apparently said something along the lines of "what's going on? I have just heard that Hazel has resigned".
On top of that the reshuffle is now underway, according to Sky sources, although it really became when it emerged Jacqui Smith and other ministers are stepping down - forcing the PM's hand.
Names in the frame have been John Reid and the possibility that he turned down the Home Secretary job and Tony Blair's law and order tsar Louise Casey being made a minister via the Lords.

Looks like it's curtains for Brown. If there is a new leader it will be interesting to see: a) whether there's an election or a coronation: in the former case, could there be a surprise? b) how long could a new leader hold on before calling a general election; surely it would have to be in September or October. Alternatively, Brown could go to the Palace on Monday to avoid getting dumped. Interesting times!
In answer to your questions, it looks bad for Gordon Brown - really bad. The two issues are how badly Labour does in the local and European elections and whether he can put together a workable Cabinet.
