Dropping like flies
It seems it's all change for Labour in the North East. We've already heard from longstanding MPs such as Jim Cousins and Doug Henderson who say they've had enough, thanks for the memories, so long, etc etc.
But could at least three more follow?
To the South of the region at least one MP is thought to be looking to step down, but wants to time it to prevent a much disliked rival going for the seat.
And rumours continue that another long-serving MP is weighing up his options and counting down the days until his pension kicks in.
Worse still is word that another MP is looking to step down at a time when he can do maximum damage to Gordon Brown.
I guess another spell in opposition is too much to ask for many of our fearless leaders
