Junk mail leaves me even colder
Regular readers will know that I have got a bit cross of late with the people delivering unwanted junk mail through my door (Junk mail leaves me in the cold).
My main gripe was at having leaflets left hanging out of the letter box, which create a huge draught through the house, thus making my insulation efforts totally pointless.
One such delivery, yesterday, was from a charity bag organisation.
I had just finished writing about energy saving week so buoyed up by this I decided to call the number on the bag and complain.
I won't mention the charity, but the lady on the other end of the phone was very cross.
They DO have a delivery policy which states to their deliverers that they must leave everything as it was and this includes gates and letterboxes.
She was most upset that this wasn't being adhered to, particularly, as she pointed out; elderly people in this weather are already struggling to heat their homes.
She even thanked me for calling.
I was trying to work out if I'm just an old grump but decided that hopefully as a result of my call, the delivery staff will be more careful and if that saves some people a few important pennies off of their heating bill then it's been worth it.
