Back to the top. Again.

Well that wasn't the most convincing performance you are ever likely to see was it? We spent good spells of the match on the back foot, but as I have said on a number of occasions this season....three points is three points.

I think it is only fair to, first of all, mention Steve Harper. He made some absolutely huge saves in the second half, none bigger than the reflex save in stoppage time. That's the kind of save that can make a big difference come what May. But it was a brilliant save, lets be grateful that we do have a keeper like Harper on the books.

Some might say there was a hint of good fortune, OK a lot of good fortune, in the goal. At first glance, Nolan seemed to get the ball in that tackle but replays told a different story. Taylor's shot then took a massive ricochet off Janitor from Scrubs' backside and into the net. You'll take what you're given in this instance. Especially after a couple of away performances against Scunny and Forest when we might have felt a tad unlucky not to come away with anything.

This was one of the most physical games I've seen this season, with The Blades having a number of powerhouses who would take no "you know what" from anyone. In particular, they had the aforementioned Janitor from Scrubs (or Morgan to the rest of you who haven't got a few cans of Becks in you) who gave Carroll a right good kicking throughout.

There were some other pluses apart from the result obviously and Harper. Enrique was faultless all game and made some dicing runs that gave Sheff United nightmares. Nile Ranger came on and did what he has done in every game he has come on. Andy Carroll was superb in not backing down to Janitor's kicking and shoving. Colo looked OK in his first game in a few weeks. Kadar looked decent, if a little rusty but you'll forgive him given that the lad is only 18 and is being thrown in beyond the deep end.

A hard fought win, perhaps slightly fortunate. But we're in no position to be fussy.

I agree,Harps was great, but why oh why was Harewood brought on??,, he was HOPELESS,as usual,it was crying out for Butt off Guthrie on,never mind thanks to a massive chunk of luck,we're back to the top, maybe Chris.H.is carrying the good luck that's been missing for oh so very long.

I'm still waiting for something good to come from Harewood, I don't think he's as bad as people make out. I think he is the new Shola in that he is a scapegoat. We always need someone to blame.

Agreed that Guthrie should have come on for a legless Butt. I like Danny and think he has a good footballing brain. His energy would have benfited us towards the end.
