Black Cats look like model pros

By Tony Jeffries on Nov 27, 09 12:03 PM

HAVING made my modelling debut at the Stadium of Light last year, it was good to be invited back for the SAFC Foundation's second annual fashion show.

Just like last year I really enjoyed it and it was good to catch up with some of the players from last year and meet the new players Steve Bruce bought in the summer.

I've been a Sunderland fan all my life but it's at events like this week's, when you get to see the players away from the pitch, that you get to see a different side to the team. You could tell the club is definitely moving in the right direction.

The good news is the players I met for the first time seem to be a really sound bunch of lads. Last year I didn't know any of them so I was a bit nervous about meeting them - and about going on a catwalk for the first time! - but now I know a few of them it was more relaxed.

Looking back, I suppose they were a happier bunch than 12 months ago, when Roy Keane was coming to the end of his time as manager. Mind you, they ought to have been having just beaten Arsenal!

Last year there seemed to be groups in the squad, whereas at this latest show they seemed a lot more together. It was good to see.
