Exodus
John Harrison, North Tyneside mayor, gone.
Andrew Kerr, NT's chief executive, gone
Martin Swales, NT's strategic director for development, gone?
What is happening on the North Bank of the Tyne?
Last night it was announced Mr Kerr was off. Today it looks like Mr Swales will be the next chief executive of South Tyneside.
Just what is new mayor Linda Arkley saying to her staff to bring about such dedication?
UPDATE: It's official. South Tyneside Council leader Iain Malcolm has spoken of his "delight" at his new chief executive Martin Swales.
More in tomorrow's Journal.

I suspect that Linda Arkley is delighted at the news.....and it hasn't cost the council a penny in payoffs, unlike many other councils.
