Newcastle stumble to win over Palace
Wednesday night brought what was one of the worst matches in living memory...but three points so all is not dead.
Perhaps I'm being a bit harsh. Let's face it, we were playing with what some might call a make shift back four for the majority of the match. Jonas took a knock early on by one of many meaty challenges as well. We only really looked threatening when new signing Routledge came on in the second half. He caused a number of problems for Palace with his pace and skill.
Mike Williamson also had a solid debut. His height and power were welcome and will be for the rest of the season providing he can keep his performances up.
It was disappointing to hear earlier this week that Palace had gone into administration. More so for Palace when the administrators declared that their starlet Victor Moses would not play incase he got injured. Obviously, they are trying to flog him. I just hope that they manage to pull through and avoid going bust like so many clubs seem on the brink of doing.
So, onto another tricky game at Leicester on Saturday with what could be a depleted squad. Just hope that knocks to Jose, Jonas and Lovenkrands aren't as bad as first feared. A win would be nie, but a draw wouldn't be a disaster. Neither would a defeat for Forest at local rivals Derby!
