Gordon Brown interview
On Friday, I had a wide-ranging interview with the PM and he seemed "up for it". He is due in the North East soon with the Cabinet - see my interview with him in today's Sunday Sun where we talked about his TV interview with Piers Morgan, Labour's election chances and the economy.
We aso spoke about Afghanistan just before the launch of the latest NATO offensive. I asked if Britain should steel itself for more losses.
The PM said: "When you lose any lives as a result of people working hard to protect their fellow citizens from terrorism, it is a tragedy.
"And I have always wanted to be appreciative of both the great professionalism and dedication of our forces, but also the sacrifices that many have had to make for the protection of our country.
"But we don't talk about exercises in the way you are suggesting. This is an important campaign and it will have all the support and equipment that is needed."
I slipped in a cheeky question about when the election might be, but Mr Brown said: "You know you are not going to get an answer."
