Royal bride wears designs by Ex-Northumbria Uni student
BRIDE-to-be Kate Middleton has been snapped in a lovely velvet coat designed by a former student at Northumbria University.
Kate was seen wearing the design by fashion designer Sophie Cranston while attending a wedding in Yorkshire.
Sophie, 34, graduated from Northumbria in 1999, winning the Student Collection of the Year Award at that year's Graduate Fashion Week with a collection called 'The Morning After the Night Before'. After leaving Northumbria's prestigious School of Design, she worked with Alexander McQueen and then Alice Temperley, before going on to launch her own label, Libélula.
It's always great to hear about students who study in the region going on to great things-Norhumbria uni has one of the best fashion schools in the UK and story like this proves it.
Check out Sophie's latest collection at www.libelula-studio.com. These shots are some of her new spring/summer offerings.
