My weird weekend of news
IT'S six month since i started training in Los Angeles with Tommy Brooks and I've been in Los Angeles for of them, but the weekend just gone was the weirdest of them all.
It's been really interesting to see the Americans' reaction to the two big news stories out here recently.
The most recent one was the death of Osama Bin Laden, who was killed by American Navy Seals on Sunday night.
They've been trying to get him since September 11 2001 and now they finally have, the news has been absolutely everywhere.
It's been in all the papers and on every single TV channel - and there's hundreds of them out here! All the front pages of the newspapers have been saying stuff like "Rot in Hell". It just shows you what an evil man he was.
It's the first time in my life I've seen people celebrating someone's death. It's been a bit weird, but I know why and I'm over the moon they've killed the scumbag.
The news broke in the evening but I'd actually had an early night. It was only the next morning when I saw something on my phone about it. When I first saw the message from a mate it said, "Osama is dead".
I said to Sarah my fiancée, "The president's dead". It was early and I thought it said Obama - easy mistake to make... I think!
The week before that the news was all about the royal wedding.
I think the Americans were more interested in it than we were. Everyone seemed to be celebrating it out here.
Every TV channel had stuff about the royal family on it for weeks leading up to it.
I was shocked to realise how much the royal family meant to the people out here. A lot of people were talking about it, especially with me if they knew I was British. People where even telling us they where getting up in the early hours to watch it live!
To be honest, I wasn't really interested. Sarah was watching it to see the dress Kate wore, but that was more because she's proper into her fashion.
