Labour goes on offensive with new Energy Secretary

Ed Davey may have only just got his feet under the Secretary of State desk at the Department for Energy and Climate Change.

But a letter will be landing on that desk shortly demanding he make resolving the row over solar power subsidies his top priority

It is from Newcastle Central MP Chi Onwurah, a Shadow Business Minister, who said: "A new Secretary of State at the Department for Energy and Climate Chance (DECC) is an opportunity for them to sort out the solar tariff fiasco, accept the judgement of the courts and take the time to review the policy properly.

"The new Secretary of State should make this his first priority."
