Sunderland Empire prepares for panto

By Sunderland Empire on Nov 11, 08 12:38 PM

View imageIt was a very exciting time for the Sunderland Empire last week as we revealed the final gems in our Aladdin cast. We held a great event at the Best Western Roker Hotel in Seaburn, where we announced that teenage heart throb, singer and finalist in ITV's Grease Is the Word, Anthony Kavanagh is going to be our Aladdin.

Anthony gave a great performance at the launch, proving himself to be a more than worthy pantomime hero.

Anthony was joined by star of Channel 4's hit comedy show Banzai, Masashi Fujimoto, who will play the Emperor and local (Wallsend to be precise) comic Steve Walls, who will be providing the laughs as Wishee Washee.

The cast treat us all to an impromptu performance at the launch, which can be seen on our facebook page, proving that Aladdin is going to be the most entertaining panto yet!

They join an all star cast alongside celebrated American actor and director, Paul Michael Glaser (Starsky & Hutch) as the ultimate panto baddie Abanazar, plus superstar singer and actress Sheila Ferguson (The Three Degrees and I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!), who will be making wishes come true as the mystical Genie, Miss Saigon star Jennifer Hubilla, who will have you enchanted with her beautiful singing voice, as the Princess and back by public demand, the North East's very own Dale Meeks (Emmerdale, Chicago) will be dame for a laugh and donning a host of fabulous frocks as he makes his pantomime dame debut as Widow Twankey.

It's going to be a busy couple of months for us here at the Sunderland Empire but we can't wait. "Oh yes you can!" "Oh no we can't!"

Hi! This is kind of off topic but I need some advice from an established blog. Is it very hard to set up your own blog? I'm not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty quick. I'm thinking about creating my own but I'm not sure where to begin. Do you have any ideas or suggestions? Appreciate it
