Christmas catch up
Call me naive, but when I perused the festive Radio Times - highlighter in hand - in the run-up to the the holly-laden festivities, I thought there may have been a chance I could have watched the stockingful of Christmas TV spoils before 12th day dictated the last post for the baubles and associated flashing lights.
Can you tell it was my first Christmas with a toddler?
Last year - aside from a night of fountainous vomiting that we'd all rather put on the backburner memorywise - I had a five-month old, wobbly little baby who was happy - nay downright cock-a-hoop - to watch the dramatic goings on in Albert Square, Weatherfield, Holby City and either side of Stephen Fry on QI.
So why would this year be any different?
Well, maily because my wobbly five-month-old had turned into a turbo-powered toddler who apparently eats Duracel batteries when I'm not looking and had made a pledge to himself to NEVER stop when it's Christmas. Ever.
Hence, I'm only just coming to terms with the whole Sean/Roxy paternity drama... only just wondering whether the Tyrone/Molly union will go ahead... only just sniggering at the fancy dress worn by Clive Anderson, Rob Brydon, Dom Joly, Alan Davies and Master of Ceremonies Stephen Fry on QI... and have only just finished giving our very own Jill Halfpenny a rousing round of applause for winning the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special.
I haven't even started to get round round to the festive incarnations of Gavin and Stacey, The Royle Family, Mock The Week or Holby Festivity yet... don't spoil them for me!
Yet somehow, I've managed (on rare occasion) to catch the mind-numbing manure that is this year's Celebrity Big Brother - how much does Tina Malone need a gastric band around her gob? Dear me.
I clearly need to have a word with the nearest mirror.
