Cinema - a cheap night out?

By Stockton Arc on Mar 12, 09 04:04 PM

Did you know more people go to the cinema during a recession? I guess this is because it is a relatively inexpensive night out and for customers, represents a safe bet in terms of the experience they are going to have. They are buying into well-known directors, actors, possibly a familiar title - and something they may well have seen advertised nationally on billboard, TV etc. so customers can feel confident they are going to have a good night out and get value for money.

So if you are feeling the pinch this month, come to ARC on Saturday and for one day only you can see a film for just £1!

As part of a new programme of activity around ARC's Cinema, this Saturday cinema takes over the whole building, with seven films being screened across five different venues, with all tickets priced at £1.

You can choose between foreign classic Cinema Paradiso (PG); locally made Better Things (15), ARC's best-selling film ever, Atonement (15) or sit back and enjoy the whole of the Lord of the Rings trilogy on a big screen, all nine hours of it (with breaks!). And there is even a Secret Screening... just turn up for 8pm on Saturday night to find out what it is!

If money is going to be tight over the next few months, we want to get people into a cinema-going habit, so we hope this promotion will help remind people what a great experience cinema can be.

More details about ARC's ongoing cinema programme are on the website www.arconline.co.uk
