The temptation of Patsy...
Can I just say now that this will be my last Holby City-related blog for a bit, and it's gonna be a short one.
Fans of the show won't need any telling that last night's episode finally saw the marriage of Joseph and Faye, played by Patsy Kensit (Patsy just plays Faye, not sure who plays Joseph... and it's unimportant for the purposes of this blog).
Anyway, it's been a long-running storyline with all the twists and turns you might expect: bit of homicide suspicion, bit of adultery and a bit of unrequited admiration.. to say nothing of a bit of collagen in the old lips Kensit?
Anyway, the day had arrived and last night's episode began with Faye leafing through a pile of old photos as she went back and forth about whether or not to swallow her pride and invite the family she hadn't seen for a decade.
Among the said photees were pix of her previous two or three dalliances with marriage.... and here's where I reckon the producers of the show missed an opportunity for a big slice of fun.
Instead of Faye flcking through mocked-up wedding pix of unrecogniseable grooms, surely it would have been much more entertaining to ask Patsy to hand over her own quartet of wedding albums...
I think I would have laughed until a proverbial cow knocked at my door if Patsy's rock and roll polaroids of her happy wedding days with Dan Donovan from Big Audio Dynamite, Jim Kerr from Simple Minds, Liam Gallagher from Oasis and DJ Jeremy Healy had come into sharp focus during her reminiscent pre-wedding daydream.
That is all.
